Being on Mars - It's a Real Thing | AMADEE-20: The Mars Mission Documentary

The Austrian Space Forum has been conducting thorough research to achieve their dream of human and robotic Mars exploration missions, with the AMADEE Mars Missions as their main focus since 2015. In October 2021, the forum conducted the AMADEE-20 Mars simulation in the Negev Desert, Israel, with a small field crew of analog astronauts carrying out experiments in preparation for future missions. The mission was directed by a dedicated Mission Support Center in Austria, and the crew worked in a replicated Mars landscape with harsh conditions similar to what the first Mars mission crew might face. The documentary captures the crew’s experience of isolation, extreme conditions, and testing under stress.
